For over 20 years, the University at Buffalo has engaged U&S Services to help automate building controls and optimize energy consumption throughout its 50+-building campus. With an aggressive building schedule over the past five years, the well-known SUNY school added five new buildings, ranging from new residence halls and office space to high-tech schools of engineering and pharmaceutical sciences.

U&S conducted a full energy analysis to benchmark and streamline energy usage across the campus for the current buildings and new construction. We also made significant improvements to the campus energy management and environmental controls systems by adding features like independent yet integrated zone controls in residence halls to reduce energy usage and increase savings. Several of the new buildings earned a gold or silver LEED rating from the U.S. Green Building Council, setting the standard for future campus construction projects.

Now, with integrated environmental controls and improved energy management solutions in place at UB, other schools across the state, including Alfred University, Buffalo State and Alfred State, have turned to U&S Services to optimize their higher education campuses and bring their facilities into the 21st century.
