Located on the banks of Lake Erie, the General Mills cereal and flour manufacturing complex sprawls over 27 acres, and includes one of the last working grain elevators in the area. This iconic facility has a long history in the community with flour-making production dating back to 1904. Over 100 years later, the modernization of the plant has taken place, including the use of video management systems as a security measure. This intricate system of cameras is important for the safety and security of people and property, given the plant’s access to railways and international waters. Monitoring of the perimeter is vital since ships regularly drop off and pick up cargo at this location.
