The Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, commonly referred to as Buffalo’s Medical Corridor, brings together Western New York’s premier health care, life sciences research and medical education institutions into one geographic area. With over 120 acres dedicated to this sector, this world-class medical campus facilitates partnership on all levels. U&S is proud of its contributions to the development, and re-development, of the buildings that are reinvigorating the downtown community.

To ensure these facilities deliver the optimal environment for doctors and patients, and meet the critical laboratory conditions demanded by life sciences research facilities, complete energy management systems with facility automation capabilities were implemented. With a new system interface in place, building engineers were given convenient access to the controls system via web portal to address issues from virtually anywhere. 24/7 energy usage reporting and trending also help keep utility costs under control and allow BNMC residents to secure green energy incentives from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). Integrated smart building solutions deliver zonal temperature controls for each office, laboratory and open common spaces, and reduce operational costs by allowing facilities personnel to control areas in use while reducing energy demands in areas not occupied.

Ultimately, U&S Services building solutions contribute to improved patient comfort, energy conservation and better control over utility costs. These are paramount for organizations that depend heavily on government and grant funding, and charitable donations.
